THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART

A full day spent in the Met was like trying to fit a lifetime into an hour .............. The Met requires a great many days over an extended period of time  to even begin to appreciate everything that it has on offer. My day was spent briefly visiting the Frank Lloyd Wright room and gallery - then on to the American Art section with primarily the paintings and sculpture of Frederic Remington and the amazing 'Horse Fair' by Rosa Bonheur which it was difficult to drag myself away from. The rest of the day was spent  - briefly in the Willy's Jeep gallery - and thereafter the rest of the day in the amazing collection of Impressionists that  the Met has on offer .............. certainly better than what either the Tate or the Louvre have on offer.  Simply a feast of artistic beauty, expertise and imagination by everyone who was anyone in that remarkable movement, and during that remarkable period.

Herewith a very small sample of what I was able to take in. Enjoy!
